About the client
Unique problems to solve
An ever-growing digital profile
A profile of a person has to be dynamic, it should promote the growth of a person as they acquire new skills, face new challenges, and learn new stuff.
Presenting each profile in their own way
The information had to be organized in a way that would give more context about to the user, their skills, their interests, and their experience.
Reduce the ambiguity of the profile
Hiring traditionally happens taking someone's skillset into consideration. But, people's expertise varies depending on what kind of challenges they faced.
Factoring the data privacy
People have to share their profiles. Keeping the full-profile out on public platforms is something the users going away from. We needed to find a balance between privacy and sharing.
The Design Process
Interacting with the client gave me an in-depth understanding of how they wanted to take this product forward. I began my process by interviewing a cross-section of students, working professionals, hiring managers, including recruiters. I used this data as anchors throughout my design process. Also, taking into account real-world needs, and workflows.
Ideating the product concept
Let's Talk, to know more about my contributions, design hurdles, and in-depth design decisions
My Role
I have collaborated with the team as a UX consultant to help them with the product ideation, conduct user research, UX design, UI design, and visual design.
I have integrated a pentagon graph to the profile section to give the viewer a simple and an intuitive way to understand the top skills of a person.
Bringing out the best things of every profile
The user can share the customizable URL of their profile to recruiters, friends, universities, and anyone who requests for the professional or educational profile. The objective is to replace the whole profile information form with a single URL.
A seamless way to share the profile
Unlike resumes. This application makes it possible to control the viewing permissions even after sharing the URL.
Complete control of shared information
I have broken down the sharing of a professional profile into two phases: The profiler who creates their profile, and the viewer who looks at the profile.
Reframing the problem
Providing the viewer with more context
The profile view of a person depends on the permissions and requirements of the viewer. The information in the profile dynamically organizes itself based on the permissions and the requirements viewer has.
Defining the MVP
By cross-validating the user research results with the client's need. We have prioritized the top problems and decided upon the MVP.
Sketches and Wireframes
I began with multiple iterations of rough sketches and narrowed down my design strategy to "fragmentation". The approach was to fragment the profile into meaningful sections. From there, I moved to wireframes that were fragmented and yet had a singular experience where whole information can be accessed via a single page.
An interactive and a live resume
We wanted to make this profile more than a resume that someone can interact with. It brings out more information than a traditional resume and gives more control of what and how to share. The application will also dynamically improve the resume when more experience and skills are acquired.
Intuitive way of displaying profile information
While displaying the profile, the information is fragmented yet unified to give an intuitive experience for the viewer. This will help the viewer to quickly analyze the profile.
